Florenc Papas is an Albanian filmmaker based in Toronto with over a decade of experience in the Film, TV, and Media industry. His work focuses on intimate human relationships and social issues, particularly advocating for women's rights through cinema.
Papas directed the feature films Luna Park (2024), which premiered at the GOA International Film Festival, and Open Door (2019) -Official submission of Albania for the 'Best International Feature Film' category of the 93rd Academy Awards in 2021.
He is currently developing his first English-language feature, an adaptation of a novel from the US. His contributions to film have earned him recognition as a FORBES Europe 30 Under 30 honoree and a member of the European Film Academy.
Beyond directing, he has also produced and co-produced multiple international projects through Tunnelfilm Ltd. From 2015 to 2022, he served as Director of Programming at Tirana International Film Festival, curating selections and fostering emerging voices in global cinema.
Papas holds a Bachelor's Degree in Film Directing and a Postgraduate Certificate in Film & Multiplatform Storytelling.
